Jill Duggar Was Called Out by a Fan for Saying She ‘Interrogated’ Her Husband, Derick Dillard, During Their Courtship

The Duggars have seriously strict courtship rules, and we’ll never forget when Jill Duggar met Derick Dillard . The two were initially set up by Jim Bob Duggar — and the rest is history.

Now, Jill’s reminding fans with an Instagram post of the first time she video chatted with Derick — but one follower called Jill out for her “#interrogation” hashtag. Here’s how Jill responded.

On Nov. 8, 2020, Jill posted a throwback of Derick to her Instagram. The photo is grainy and appears to be a screenshot from her computer. She then explained exactly what the photo shows — and it’s Derick from their first video chat in 2013.

“I snuck this iPhone pic during our very first Skype call … only three days after we first started texting,” Jill captioned the post. “It was another three long months before we met in person for the first time, then another two after that before we saw each other again. I’m so glad I was thinking ahead and captured this moment ‘just in case things worked out.'”

Jill then added a number of hashtags, like “#lovehimtothemoonandback” and “5hourskypecall.” But she also added the hashtag, “interrogation,” which got some attention.

“Lol. The interrogation hashtag,” one fan commented.

Chances are good that Jill and Derick will allow their sons, Israel and Samuel, to take a more modern approach to dating, though. The couple’s already decided to put their kids through public school. And they’ve noted that while their steps toward a more modern lifestyle don’t necessarily appease the other Duggars, they’re happy with how they’re choosing to move forward with their family.

“You shouldn’t have had to hide anything,” another fan commented. “You and Derick were adults. You did not need a Chaperone at all. All of that was ridiculous.” To this, Jill didn’t respond.

We’ll have to wait and see how Jill and Derick treat dating in their own family. For now, we’re loving Jill’s throwbacks and social media content.
